Last year we announced that we would allocate our normal budget for client Christmas gifts toward creating three paid internships for first-year sixth-formers from nearby communities. We had such a positive response to our decision to invest in the next generation of PR professionals, that we couldn’t wait to get the programme up and running.
Having reached out to several secondary schools, the TALA team facilitated workshops for a group of sixth-formers at North Oxfordshire Academy who had expressed a particular interest in business and media. Several volunteers subsequently volunteered for our internships, and it was brilliant to be joined this week by Zoe, Julia, and Harry.
We’ve been getting our new team members involved in supporting our clients, showcasing some of the many different career opportunities within public relations ahead of them making choices about their futures in the coming months. It’s fair to say that we’ve been blown away by their enthusiasm, research skills, and their many surprisingly valuable insights.
We’re already looking forward to welcoming Zoe, Julia, and Harry back to our offices for three weeks in the summer, involving them in further aspects of TALA’s work.
