National Memorial Arboretum inspirational setting for TALA away day

When we needed some inspiration for our strategy day, where better to meet than the National Memorial Arboretum, home of inspirational stories and accounts of incredible camaraderie and leadership?

Following sessions led by our founder Andrew Baud and our chair Richard Adams, our leadership coach Steve McCann from the Trusted Executive took us to the Far East Prisoner of War memorial building to share the story and characteristics of inspirational leader Brigadier Sir Philip John Denton Toosey CBE, DSO, TD, JP, the senior Allied officer in the Japanese prisoner-of-war camp at Tha Maa Kham (known as Tamarkan) in Thailand during the Second World War.

While the development of TALA’s long term vision pales into insignificance compared with the astounding tales of service and sacrifice told throughout the Arboretum, it certainly gave us a unique perspective on the habits, opportunities and challenges we’re hoping to harness as a team in the New Year and beyond.

We also had time for some festive celebrations and fun end-of-year awards, with top prizes being some unexpectedly well received TALA merch!

Thanks so much to Emma Syer at the Arboretum for hosting us, we can see why the Aspects event venue was voted ‘Business Events Venue of the Year’ by VisitEngland!
